After a four year gap, the much-anticipated MACH2022 show returned to the NEC over the week 4th-8th April 2022. After the disruption caused by the pandemic, it was the first opportunity for many leading companies to showcase their machines and advanced technology.
No other exhibition in the UK offers such a comprehensive overview of manufacturing technology, with live working machinery demonstrations and advice on hand.
As Dave Burley, the new President of the Manufacturing Technologies Association stated, ‘MACH is the only place to see such technology on display under power, but it is more than that, it is the spotlight for our creativity’.
Commenting further on the post-pandemic outlook he added ‘it is vital we set our sights on the future and work together to ensure the manufacturing industry emerges even stronger than before.’
There certainly was a sense of optimism amongst all exhibitors, as well as some delight in finally being able to engage with customers and partners in a non-restrictive setting.
There was dedicated zones for digital solutions to manufacturing, 3D printing, and additive manufacturing, as well as automation and conventional CNC machinery.
With manufacturing supporting 2.5 million jobs in the UK, and accounting for 15% of total UK investment, as well as contributing £183 billion output to the economy (Source: Make UK) it was amazing to see so many excellent companies under one roof in the heart of the midlands.
As the 9th biggest manufacturing nation in the world. MACH2022 certainly put down a marker for some latent demand, with machine sales advertised by companies at the show.
Shirui Lily Director Simon Kinson commented ‘It was amazing to see the quality of the stands at MACH2022, and to meet so many old and new customers. I was especially delighted to see one of our recent placements was working on a client stand’.
