Out of the spring, XYZ Machine Tool Ltd. Managing Director Martin Burton approached Shirui Lily Ltd. to recruit two important roles within their business. An Area Sales Engineer to cover the Midlands, and an Applications Engineer to support the Midlands/North region.
Shirui Lily Ltd., having established a strong partnership with XYZ from a previous successful placement, was able to provide an immediate short list from their live database of pre-screened candidates.

Martin from XYZ commented, ‘Simon had worked with us in the past, he is a trusted recruitment partner. We had an immediate requirement at a very busy time for us approaching the MACH24 show.
Simon was able to provide a short list of three strong candidates within 24 hours. We were interested in meeting all three candidates and hired two. Overall, it was a very smooth and painless process, thanks to Shirui Lily and Simon’s expertise.
Shirui Lily Ltd’s director added, ‘It is especially pleasing to work with XYZ Machine Tools Ltd again in their 40th anniversary year. They are one of the leading machine tool companies in the UK by volume of sales and turnover. It makes it easier to recruit for a recognised market leader where candidates want to work for them. They offer competitive remuneration packages, a supportive working environment, and excellent long-term career prospects.’
‘The candidates we placed were sourced earlier in the year in February, when an extensive pre-screen was carried out, so when the XYZ vacancies became available, they were recontacted from the database and introduced to the positions, then submitted immediately, the whole process was completed in a matter of weeks.’
XYZ Machine Tools Ltd. is headquartered in Burlescombe, Devon, UK. Employing over 80 staff, with an annual turnover of c.£35 million, they have five further sales offices in London, Nuneaton, Sheffield, Huddersfield, and Livingston. They have also recently opened a European office in Zabrze, Poland.
They achieved over £1 million worth of sales at the MACH24 Birmingham show, whilst securing a further 500k of orders from a special 40th Anniversary Open House exhibition at their 100,000 square ft Devon HQ in July.
